Paulauskas interview

Dribble Drive Motion Offense

For et par år siden var Dribble Drive Motion et af de helt store buzzwords i coachingmiliøer i hele verden. Siden er hypen naturligt nok døet lidt ned, men det er stadig et meget interesant angreb - både fra et spillerudviklings- og holdangrebssynspunkt.

Vi har valgt at gøre det til vores klubangreb i Medway Park Crusaders, og efter to år har vi virkeligt set fordelen i år. Den konstante fokusering på at være aggressiv i drives og lave reads for at se hvor de åbne medspillere er, når hjælpen kommer, har udviklet vores spillere enormt. Vi kommer fra et område med forholdsvist lille baskettradition, få atletiske spillere, og ingen landsholdsspillre, og alligevel har vi med vores u18 akademi og klubhold formået at slå hold fra det indre London, med op til fire landsholdspillere.

Vi er ganske enkelt vant til at spille hurtigere og lave reads hurtigere end de andre hold, og det har virkeligt hjulpet os til at slå nogle hold, vi ikke burde kunne slå.

Måske er den bedste anbefaling, at det ser ud til, at en af vores spillere følger i Loul Dengs fodspor og skal spille på Blair Academy næste år, efter han som totalt ukendt dominerede spillerne fra London i nogle private træningspas.

Min mening er, at det er et af de bedste angrebssystemer i forhold til spillerudvikling, især, hvis man indsætter nogle muligheder for Pick-and-Roll, så spillerne lærer at bruge screeinger.

Jeg så på AAIF's forum, at der er andre danske coaches, der arbejder med det også, men jeg ved desværre ikke præcist hvem? Jeg diskuterer meget gerne :)

Camp coaches needed!

The annual Gladitator Basketball Camp, takes place in Farum Arena, Denmark, from monday until thursday (both days included – total of four days), from the 15th-18th of Feb. 2010.

The camp is in need of more camp coaches, so if you are interested, please contact us at info@gladiatorcamp.dk. Coaches will receive a fee for their effort.


The camp runs from 8:00-16:30 every day, and you will be in charge of coaching a group of app. 10 campers, and following them during the camp, as they doing competitions, playing games and work stations under the guidance of our selected camp head coaches.

Academic Course in Basketball

The University of Worcester in partnership with the Lithuanian Academy of Physical Education (LAPE) have launched the European Masters degree in Basketball Coaching. Significantly, the course will be endorsed by the Federation for International Basketball in Europe (FIBA Europe) The course will be based on the strategic advantage of combining the two institutions’ and countries strengths both in the basketball field and in affiliated areas.
